Get to Know More About Nita

Hello ! My name is Leonita (also known as Nita)

When I think about eating healthy, I think about getting the proper nutrients/vitamins/minerals from food to support my bodies energy balance, brain function, strength, growth, and the bodies natural defense mechanisms. I believe in finding a balance between eating healthy and enjoying my favorite foods without harsh restrictions.

Being intuitive and mindful of the goodness I feed my body and the sanity I need to just enjoy life.

Another important factor to being healthy is maintaining an active lifestyle so our bodies can work at it's highest capacity. Being active can be anything from taking a walk, to learning something new, socializing with family & friends, meditating, and cooking, to hardcore sessions at the gym.

This combination of eating healthy and staying active can lead to an overall healthy lifestyle.

My Story

NitaNutrition LLC is a place that offers you health and nutrition information that is based on evidenced research, and my professional experience as a Registered Dietitian (RD).

I struggled for a long time when it came to trying to be fit and healthy. In my younger years I would go on so many fad diets, detoxes, and deprived myself of nutritious foods all because I just wanted one thing "to be skinny."

At that time I didn't know how these perceptions negatively impacted my my mind, body, and overall well-being.  Luckily, I educated myself on what it truly meant to be healthy, and I haven't looked back since. I learned that food and water is a source of nutrition and energy needed by our bodies to achieve everyday activities.

"I understand what works for my body and lifestyle so I can stay healthy from the inside out"

I am able to indulge on my favorite decedent foods here and there but I know how much my body can handle. I definitely cannot overdue it! I don't stress about being perfect, we live in an imperfect world - and that's OKAY with me. As long as I know I am trying to be the best version of myself

I achieve this by getting an overall nutrient rich diet, being mindful of the things I eat, listening to my internal cues, staying physically active, being social with family and friends, cooking, learning,  helping others, and of course pursuing my passions.

My clinical background includes a B.S. degree in Biochemistry,  and Dietetics, along with working as a Clinical Dietitian for over 10 years in Healthcare Facilities. I understand how the body processes nutrients, and experienced first hand how poor nutrition can lead to chronic health issues, and increased mortality.

I know that what works for me won't necessarily work for you. I help you find the right nutrition path that fits specifically for you! I am here to help put the power back into your hands. To offer you inspiration, education, support, and motivation to be your healthiest self!

You will also find simple recipes, lifestyle tips, and inspiration on the Blog.

I hope you enjoy all that NitaNutrition LLC has to offer!

Sincerely, Nita
